On January 22, 2018, the central board of secondary education released the dates for the conduct of next UGC-NET 2018 for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) & Eligibility for Assistant Professor.
As per the notification, the examination will be conducted on July 8, 2018.
National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC) and is a gateway test in India to start a career as Lecturers or Assistant Professors in various Colleges, Universities and other Educational Institutions. This NET (National Eligibility Test) will be conducted once a year from 2018 onwards as per CBSE notification.
The online application process will commence from March 6, 2018. Applications will be open until April 5, 2018.
The upper Age limit for JRF has been extended to 30 years from the existing 28 years (the age relaxation as earlier will remain same).
This year there will be a few changes in the exam pattern:
- There will be only 2 papers this year – Paper1 and Paper 2
- Paper I scheme details: Paper I will have 50 objective type questions (compulsory). Each question will carry 2 marks. The duration of the paper shall be 60 minutes from 9:30 A.M to 10.30 A.M (The paper shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.)
- Paper II scheme details: Paper II will have 100 objective type questions (compulsory). Each question will carry 2 marks, which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate. The test will be held for two hours (11:00 AM to 1:00 PM).
